In the heart of the city the sky is black.
At most ten stars shine bright enough to be seen through the light pollution.
If only the power would go out, even if just for five minutes.
Just long enough for the constant glow of the city to be switched off.
If I was on a farm tonight in the middle of nowhere, what a glorious site that night sky would be.
Instead, I am left with a haze of black and neon.
If only I could see you properly.
It is very odd to know that behind the murky layer of manufactured light lies billions of galaxies and an infinite number of stars.
Looking to the sky you find yourself instantly travelling back in time while never leaving the present.
Some of the stars have been dead for thousands of years, yet they still glow strong in our sky.
Dead and yet still alive…
